Anywhere but Here....?

Sometimes when I'm at work I think 'why am I here?'. I could be Thai Boxing in Thailand, Relaxing on a Gondola in Italy, Skiing in Switzerland or having Coffee in France.

But no. I'm serving an overweight bald guy who has sweat beads on his top lip with condoms.

Love is?

Me and my girlfriend were discussing the difference between "loving" and being "in love" this is what we came up with

loving someone is respecting them and and enjoying having them in your life.
Being in love with someone is all of the above and much more. It's an intense and life altering experience that you can neither control or explain.

Just sayin' :-)

Summer? Is that you?

I'm too hot so i take the duvet off, then i'm cold so i put it back on, then i'm hot again....Then i stick my leg out, but i'm convinced spiders will get me!

Shin Meet Drawer

there is a drawer under the bed where the sheets are kept and i'd left it open after i got the sheets out.... Yeah, just walked into it! Ouch!

Skys The Limit

This is the only reason there is to get onto a plane. Not even the promise of sun, sand and sea is better than the feeling of being above the clouds, looking down on them instead of up at them helps me appreciate them. From this view they don't just look like bags full of rain about to ruin the good weather.

I Just got back from a holiday in Majorca. Beautiful island. The sea was the clearest and most turquoise I've ever seen. I went up mountains (Sant Salvador) and into caves The 'Hams', went wine tasting (although I don't like wine) and paid over the odds for a vodka and lemonade!

Although I am of the opinion that it's a misconception that holidays refresh you. I'm tired out!

Summer is Arriving!

Excited much?

I'm already in the summer spirit and spent last weekend at a place named Rutland Water. I'd highly recommend the place if you enjoy quiet days out. We had a picnic, hired bicycles and ate ice cream, the idea of hiring a tandem entered my head, but quickly exited once I realised I'd probably end up cycling for two people rather than just little ol' me!

Take a picnic, enjoy the sun, listen to the gentle swish of the current. It's a beautiful place.

Does anyone remember this post about TeePee?

Turns out she's an extremely persistent woman. She used all her charm, wit, cunning and humour to finally get me to go on a one date with her, no strings, no pressure.

The date went well, we ate out and went for drinks, she showed me the sights of her hometown and convinced me that my original opinion of her may have been a little judgmental as I didn't know the full story.

We've been in a relationship for four months now.

For the first time I think I'm glad to be proved wrong.

Gave It All Away

I was never a fan of boybands when I was younger, perhaps there are obvious reasons for that, but one particular song of Boyzone is the theme tune to one of my fondest memories. My friend and I, ten years old in a log cabin with only a stereo that played tapes - anyone remember those? We were creating dance routine to the song 'Love Me For a Reason'. It was a terrible routine, but at the time, were felt like pop stars.

Christmas went well, New year went well, my birthday was so-so, and holy monkey did it SNOW!

Dark Nights

Last week I was working late, it was 7pm and the bell on the shop door rang, I went to serve the customer only to find that they didn't need serving. It was a young women, about my age and she quickly whispered that she was in a bit of trouble. She had been walking from her place of work to where she parked her car down a side street, when a man started walking beside her. She didn't know him, but when he spoke to her he was foreign and told her that he was going to follow her. She saw the lights on in the pharmacy I worked and decided to come in with the pretence of buying something, in the hope that he would get bored and leave, but he told her he would wait outside until she came back.

I looked out of the pharmacy window to see that the man was indeed waiting for her, and reassured the woman that she was ok. I asked two of our drivers to escort the young woman to her car so that the man would get the hint and leave. Luckily, he did.

But what a nightmare! The poor girl was terrified, and with good reason. I was wondering though, if the same situation would have occurred if it was summer? Dark nights seem to lure out dark people!

Lit by Twilight: New Moon

On a FIRST DATE though. Oh I really can't believe that!

Anyway, Sunday night I went to see Twilight: New Moon. It was actually very good considering the book droned on and on and on and.... you get my drift. The author filled a good couple of chapters without one of the main characters and the dullness was almost overwhelming. Stephanie Mayer also really really really.... you get my drift.... wanted the reader to guess that Bella was completely incapacitated with pain due to Edwards absence. She wanted us to know this so much that I got a little frustrated with her, but the film.... that's another story. It was very entertaining and I was impressed at how it managed to stick to the story pretty well without it seeming boring, unlike the book.

While sitting in the cinema Suzie and I noticed a girl standing on the steps that lead to where people were sitting. Even in the dim lighting we could see the near panic on the poor girl's face as she realised that she had completely forgotten where she was sat, and wished she'd just peed herself rather than gotten up to go to the toilet. She gave in and phoned her friend asking for directions back to her seat, all the while Suzie and I were trying very discreetly not to find hilarity in the situation.

But it really was rather hilarious.
Can't deny that.

TeePee

Oh I've been so busy lately that my blogging duties have been put on the back burner. Last week I worked from Saturday to Friday, then went to a party Saturday, to the cinema to see New Moon Sunday, Christmas shopping on Monday and today...... I put my Christmas trimmings up. Yep, it's that time of the year again folks. WOOOOO!.... That was an actual woo! of joy. I love Christmas.

I don't know where to start though, since going to Manchester I have only managed to stop by and post the Concert videos, so obviously there's a big gap of time where things have been happening but they haven't been documented.

Hmmm....

Anyway, talking about Manchester. My friends and I went down Canal street after the concert, in particular we went into a women's bar named Coyote's. During the concert I'd bought a T-shirt from the Merchandise table and had put it on over my shirt so that I didn't lose it, so women in the bar who had missed out on getting tickets for the concert asked me how it went. One woman in particular, I'll call her TeePee, asked for my number. I gave it to her, she was good looking and funny, so why not? A while later I turned around and TeePee was kissing someone. A little while after that she was back talking to me again, and so I simply had to ask if that was her girlfriend. TeePee told me it wasn't, but that they were, in fact, on a first date.

TeePee, apparently.

I don't know if this makes me old fashioned or something, but I think that is just rude!

This is just one of the many videos I took during the concert. Man, paying a ridiculous amount of money for a fancy camcorder definitely paid off. I'm sure I'll have many more videos to post here. The concert was just THAT good!

Tegan & Sara + Manchester = AMAZING

I'm back from Manchester. I literally can't describe how much fun we had, or how fantastic Tegan and Sara were. They have to have the most amazing stage presence of any band, ever. They were funny, they were charming, they were so beautiful they made your eyes hurt.

Four hours on a bus was well worth the numb backside for the experience me and my friends had. Plus we showed the women in Manchester exactly how to party.

Oh, and it was worth carrying my camcorder around all night just to video the show.

This obviously means there will be YouTube videos to follow.
I slept for 16 hours when we got back.
Tired was not the word.
