Health & Astrology

Yep, health and astrology. I found a website today... uh, actually I think it was a few days ago. About how particular star signs suffer from particular illnesses, or are more likely to suffer from them.

Each sign has internal, external and structural rulerships. Externally, Capricorn rules the joints (especially the knees), hair, teeth and skin; internally, the mucous membranes, the peripheral nerves and portions of the stomach. Structurally, it rules the skeleton, bones and patella.

As I'm a Capricorn my afflictions are more likely to be;

tendency to catch colds,
lack of animal heat;
poor metabolism,
obesity;
constipation,
weakened powers of digestion;
weak vision;
knee problems,
rheumatism;
chest disorders;
disorders of the skin,
pustular formations, eruptions.

It's really eerie how correct some of these things are, however what the hell are pustular formations?

I do have problems with my bones, I have even broken a few of them. Only fingers and toes.... but I'm only 21 there's a lifetime to break more. No doubt I will. I do have problems with my skin, it's always dry and I have to use oodles of moisturiser. I do have poor animal heat, I'm ALWAYS cold. I do have weak vision and need glasses and I used to have a chest problem (asthema) but I don't anymore.

I asked my friends what star signs they were then read them their 'afflictions' and they all seemed to agree.

Really eerie

Abortion Debate.

I seem sexist, I know, but I don't care. I know I'm not sexist, but from my point of view, which also happens to be a woman's point of view, men are pigheaded.

Ok, not ALL men, but most men. Practically every man I've met has been an absolute arsehole. My dad and my older brother included. But why am I on a rant about my dislike of the male species? Oh, well... it's simple. Because THEY decide if abortion is wrong. Well it is, obviously, but do they carry the children to term? Do they give birth? 9 times out of 10 children are the result of men being irrisponsible, of them thinking about nothing except a climax that lasts a few seconds. So what gives them the right to decide that an abortion is against the law?

I think abortion is wrong, yes. But.... and this is a rather HUGE but. Is a baby that is never born worse than a baby that IS born and unloved? Unwanted? Uncared for? Isn't that just subjecting a child to an inevitable life of pain and neglect?

I'm a nursery nurse and I have seen a heck of a lot of children that suffer because their mothers were too young, their farthers didn't want them or their families were totally unprepared for their arrival.

I was reading an article on
CNN and read this statement.

"State lawmakers had rejected proposed amendments that would have made exceptions for rape or incest."

"We must help each mother to see the value of the gift that is a child, and nurture the mother for her own sake and for the sake of her child," Rounds said in the statement.

So if a woman is raped, she has to keep the child?
And if a woman doesn't want to keep a baby as a result of a rape the government will preassure her to do so?

Of course this HAS to be in America. Because American, as a country, is also immature and so far behind it's in the fucking middle ages. But don't get me started on America, I mean... their president is so busy trying to take over another country he's neglected the fact that his own is in serious trouble. New Orleans flood ring a bell?

Absolute idiots, absolute utter wankers! It makes me so angry.

Bad Habits - Part 2

Well, I do have a lot of bad habits.... but doesn't everyone? I guess the only difference is, I'm sharing mine.

I have to put the tv on mute when the adverts come on

I like tomato ketchup on almost everything I eat

I can't eat oranges because I can never peel them properly

I forget to say 'hello' when answering the phone, then get angry when nobody speaks

I give dirty looks to people that are smoking

I can't watch programmes such as "super nanny" because the bad parenting makes me yell at the screen

I hog the tv remote

I'm always freezing

If somebody uses something then doesn't put it away, I hunt them down and make them do it

Man, how annoying to live with am I?!!!!

Royal Fail

What's happened to the UK's postal service? Royal Mail has gone down hill.... actually it's more like gone down mount Everest they've gotten so clareless at posting our mail.

I went to the front door yesterday morning at 10am expecting there to be some letters, even if they were just bills.... but there was nothing. I shrugged and went to make breakfast.

Five hours later yes FIVE HOURS there was a flurry at the front door and when I went to investigate there was letters, it was 3pm. Since when does the mail get delivered at 3pm? And to make matters worse the negligent post man had given us next doors mail.

I'm about to sound like an old woman here, and given that I'm only 21 that's very bad, but.... I remember when the post was delivered at 6am without fail! AND I was watching the news the other day, actually is was on in the background and I over heard, but a post man had been arrested because they found about seventy-five-thousand undelivered letters in his house after complaints from people saying they hadn't recieved their mail.

Tsk tsk. Naughty!

But how come we recieved our letters without fail and at a reasonable time in the 90's? Why is it so difficult now?

Cold Sore Blues.

I have a cold sore, it's yucky.... but the strange thing is, there were no symptoms. I went to bed and my lips were fine really and I didn't even realise a cold sore had appeared until I looked in the mirror to do my hair this morning. The sneaky thing snuck up on me good and bloody propper!

But, why did I get a cold sore in the first place? I haven't had one in a long time, why now?

Yes, yes this did turn into a mini-research session.

I've known for years that once you have the 'herpes simplex virus' (cold sore virus) that you have it forever. And I read that the virus stays dormant in the nerves above, under or around you're mouth once you are exposed to it. Some people have outbreaks often, and some people don't have them at all.

About 80% of the population actually have the virus but although that many people have it only about one third of them have cold sore outbreaks. Bleh, I'm one of the unlucky buggers that gets them!

So, what triggers the virus to be 'activated'

Stress
fatigue
Illness
Injury to the lips or skin (such a physical trauma or chapping)
Injury to the lips from excessive exposure to sunlight or UV lamps
PMS
An immune system defficiency

Wow, I could write an essay on cold sores. That is sad, very, very sad!

Lynx Clicker

Wow has anybody seen the lastest Lynx advertisement for their new deoderant 'lynx click'? Ben Affleck doesn't look half bad, that coming from a lesbian is very complimentry.

Howwwwwwwwever. It is, from a guys perspective, an ingenious marketing strategy, sexy women in the advert, good looking guy checking them out.

But what an absolute piggishly male chauvinistic idea to come up with. Now, I know they're trying to advertise a man's deoderant and we all know that men think of all but.... hmm, two things? Women and sports.

But not necessarily in that order.

Not only are lynx advertising their product by giving Ben Affleck a 'clicker' that he presses everytime he sees a sexy woman, but they are giving these 'clickers' away!... these bloody clickers given to builders can you imagine?

If only Impulse deoderant could come up with an idea for women to tally the amount of times they get treated like 'objects' throughout the day.

Not Much.

Really, I haven't been doing much so I haven't posted often. It's really pretty outside because it's been snowing for the last couple of hours, everything is white and it seems so Christmas-y. It's a pitty we couldn't have had this type of snow AT Christmas.

I got caught in it, but instead of running indoors I decided to attack my nine year old cousin with a snow ball, by the time we made it inside we were freezing cold and wet, but it was fun.

Some kids ruin the snow, though. I saw then one woman standing at the bus stop and as some teenagers were walking by they threw a snowball at her. It only hit her back she laughed, but what if it had of caused offence? And why throw a snowball at a complete stranger?

Oh well, I'll just enjoy the prettyness.
