Knife Going With an Allergy to Vodka
This is just one of the many videos I took during the concert. Man, paying a ridiculous amount of money for a fancy camcorder definitely paid off. I'm sure I'll have many more videos to post here. The concert was just THAT good!

Tegan & Sara + Manchester = AMAZING
I'm back from Manchester. I literally can't describe how much fun we had, or how fantastic Tegan and Sara were. They have to have the most amazing stage presence of any band, ever. They were funny, they were charming, they were so beautiful they made your eyes hurt.
Four hours on a bus was well worth the numb backside for the experience me and my friends had. Plus we showed the women in Manchester exactly how to party.
Oh, and it was worth carrying my camcorder around all night just to video the show.
This obviously means there will be YouTube videos to follow.
I slept for 16 hours when we got back.
Tired was not the word.

Unintelligible
Disclaimer: This post is completely pointless I'm afraid.
I have to get up at 7:30 tomorrow morning.
7:30 on a Saturday morning, goodness, that is just insane.
Nevermind, it's only because I'm going to Manchester to see Tegan and Sara tomorrow night.
OHHOWEXCITINGICOULDJUSTSCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

24 Heading For 42
I'm only 24, but I don't think I can play out on school nights anymore. My friend had a house party which resulted in six tipsy girls heading to the club that sells drinks at £1.50 a go at 12:30am. We left at 4:30am, I crawled into bed at 5am.
Even though I didn't have to be at work until 3pm this afternoon, I still hadn't recovered from the night before by time I'd arrived.
I think it's fair to say I'm not 18 anymore. Save the partying for the weekend. Week nights are for Pj's and fluffy slippers.
Amen.

Take You Back Tuesday #2
Unfortunately, this is a song I remember too well. It reminds me of my older brother, my Nana W, my cousins and winter, well, the kind of winter we used to have in England where you'd be hiding a hot water bottle under your oversized coat.
My Nana W was in hospital when this song was released, I think I was Seven or Eight. Most of the family from my dads side were sitting in the visiting room with Nana on Christmas day, and my cousin Sara was rapping this song, being encoureged by her mum and dad. It's a fond memory, but such a bad song. Eek!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Kick in the Head
Saturday Morning my friend and I were texting back and fourth about train prices. I was absolutely determined that I would be travelling to Manchester via train, and not via bus. But she was determined to go via bus because it was £14 pounds cheaper. She's a cheapskate quite obviously. There isn't much £14 pounds could buy you these days.
We texted back and fourth like this for a good hour while I was on my way to the ticket office to buy the train tickets. Like I said, I was determined to use the train. I wasn't going to spend four hours on a bus when the journey could be halved by train.
I got to the ticket office, my phone was beeping, I was ignoring it. I gave the man behind the desk details of when I'd like to travel and he said.... "Oh, there are engineering works on the tracks that day so you would have to take the bus."
Ain't that a kick in the head?
I suppose I saved £14 pounds.

Take You Back Tuesday #1
Thought I'd try one of those things that people sometimes do every week where they have one subject they post about on a particular day. And after spending an evening with my old school friend, Katie, recently, reminiscing about the school days and the silly songs we thought were fantastic at the time. I realised that there were actually a lot of songs that I associate with particular moments in my life. For instance, the video I'm about to post is of a song from the 80's. I was two or three years old and I used to put the video tape into the VCR and dance around the living room, copying the people in the music videos.
I still have the video tape, and I still know all of the words to this song.
Group: Amazulu
Song: Excitable
.... yep, three year old me, getting my boogie on.
Good times.

Three for Two
This week I think I have lost at least two whole hours of my life trying to find a hotel room, for one night, in Manchester. The problem was that I wanted a room for three adults, but hotels don't accommodate three adults, only two adults and a child. I suppose the third member of our party is small enough that she would take up about as much room as a child, but that doesn't factor into a hotels handbook.
Anyway, we've taken to booking one double room for the three of us and are going to sneak one of us in.
Naughty!
Why do we even need a hotel room, you ask?
Because we are going to see Tegan and Sara live in concert, I say.
Pure Excitement!

Lit by Twilight
After seeing, and quite enjoying, the film Twilight, I decided to buy the book. More often than not a book is way better than a film and obviously gives you more insight into the characters and their journey throughout the story. The film seemed a little bit rushed, but the book was slow in pace until the last few chapters. It was a good read, and I've bought the follow on 'New Moon'.
I realised that seeing the film somewhat ruined the book for me. Not because I knew what was going to happen, but because I never had to use my imagination to conjure up what Edward and Bella looked like. Whenever I read the name Bella, I immediately pictured Kristen Stewart, and Edward was Robert Patterson. Watching the film ruined the magic of the words in their ability to create an image of the setting and the characters. Books are good like that, they guide you but ultimately you create the picture.
I'm excited for New Moon to arrive in the post from Amazon. Stupid postal strike better not interfere with my Twilight fix!

Low Down on the Ho Down
I have a newly Out of The Closet lesbian friend, who I have known since I discovered my own underlying lesbo-longings, had some sapphic-like-quality about her.
On a recent trip to the local gay Hot Spot, Deana, the newly uncloseted friend, was getting to grips with the cheesy music, the raunchy dancing and the Dolly Parton look-a-like drag queens. She was having a blast, and I was happy for her. But half way through the night Deana seeks me out to tell me she has seen a woman who was, and I'm quoting "as fit as Cheryl Cole in her birthday suit". I'm intrigued and ask her to point out this 'fit' looking woman, and I find I'm immediately handing out a warning. I pull Deana to one side and explain that the 'fit' looking woman, is in fact, possessive and controlling when in a relationship. This information was given to me by an ex-girlfriend of the 'fit' looking woman.
Deana is disappointed, then points out another 'fit' looking woman. I nodded and agreed that this woman was good-looking, but had a girlfriend. Then Deana pointed out another 'fit' looking woman, to which I told her that this woman was indeed, a man.
We staggered home, stopping at the 24 hour ASDA to buy ice-cream and donuts, then crawled into bed and concocted the perfect introduction texts to the woman who had given Deana her phone number.
The next morning at breakfast, I thought about the evening and realised a couple of things.
One: Deana reminded me of myself eight years ago. Naive, bewildered, excited, free.
Two: I could have done with a friend like me when I first found my way out of the closet and into the circus that is a gay club.
Three: Every lesbian I know knows every other lesbian, has dated every lesbian, or has dated every other lesbian's best friend.
Four: I need to move city.

Toe Time Off
I've just entered my second week of being off work. I'm enjoying spending the time doing nothing and anything I like, although four hours into the start of my time off, I broke my toe.
Picture me trying to reach for Doris before she disappears beneath my bed. I'm wearing extremely fluffy socks, the floor is polished wood. I slip, I skid, I hit my foot on the leg of the bed frame. I broke my toe.
Erm, owie?....

Unexpected Item in Bagging Area
I was in Tescos today, I had been dragged in by my friend, Suzie, because she wanted to buy bread. Thinking it would be a quicker method of payment we went to the self service checkout section, but we were wrong.
It was not quick, at all.
It took us ten minutes, TEN WHOLE MINUTES, to scan a loaf of bread. Then when it had finally scanned, the machine told us to wait for assistance. FOR A LOAF OF BREAD! Then when we received assistance the machine told us that there was an unexpected item in the bagging area. IT WAS THE LOAF OF BREAD. We were trying to buy bread so, the item wasn't really that unexpected!
Oh my good lord.
That is the last time I'll use the "quicker" method of self service.
And when I got home and spoke to another friend on the phone, she told me she had needed assistance this afternoon to buy cat food.
Quicker method my eye!
Stick to humans.
Machines think too much.

Feel it in My Bones....
This is what happens when super talented musical geniuses collaborate.
I think it's quite possible that I really do feel this song in my bones!
